Your first steps into Thai

You can start Read Thai Daily without knowing a single Thai letter. Begin with illustrated letters and familiar words, then build towards reading a short Thai story—one lesson at a time.

Meet Dao and Din

Dao (ดาว) and Din (ดิน) live together in Phrae, in northern Thailand. Their everyday world gives the language a setting: a home, a rice field, breakfast, a market and the places they visit together.

Welcome is an introduction. Explore the picture and listen to their names. There is no keyboard exercise to get through before you can begin.

Choose your starting point

  • Learn Thai Script introduces consonants and vowels individually, with pictures and sound explanations. Choose a class or a vowel group, then explore at your own pace.
  • Phrae starts with an illustrated rice field. Learn a few meaningful words, try them in short lines, and build your first readable combinations.

You can move between these sections. The script reference is available alongside lessons whenever you forget a symbol.

A small daily routine

Explore a scene, listen to a few lines, and try building or reading the words. Revisit familiar material before moving on. There is no need to race through a chapter or memorise every symbol in one sitting.

Each chapter has ten lessons and a longer final reading that reuses its vocabulary. Welcome sits before the ten Phrae lessons.

Choose your teaching language

The app supports English, German, French and Spanish for its interface and explanations. Thai remains the language you read and hear. The website’s current guide is in English.

Your devices

Read Thai Daily is a Swift app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. The layout adapts to the screen: larger devices can keep the scene, reading and explanations side by side; a phone opens explanations in a sheet.

Learning progress saves automatically on the device. There is no document picker and no learning file to manage. Cross-device progress sync is not currently offered.
