A small app, a personal reason

Read Thai Daily began with a simple wish: to get back into learning Thai, and to be able to read more of it.

It is being built in Phrae. Starting here gives the lessons a home: northern Thai houses, rice fields, breakfast, local food and everyday conversations. Dao and Din take that familiar beginning with them as they travel to other places in Thailand.

A story rather than a list

The app takes inspiration from the natural method and the approachable character-led world of old Thai learning books. The material is original, and practical reading is the aim: words that fit a scene, sentences that reuse them, and a longer story at the end of a chapter.

Pictures as learning tools

The original illustrations are created with AI assistance and matched to the lesson vocabulary. Interactive markers connect the picture to the written word. Traditional naming pictures also help make the script less abstract.

Still growing

We add a new chapter every month, exploring more places, local food and everyday Thai. New chapters are included in the subscription. Read Thai Daily is built by someone who wants to learn with it too.
